Project 1: Art of Communication - Creative and Social Activities

Creativity has a huge impact on body, mind, emotions and spirit, allowing us time to reconnect with our spiritual roots, to reflect, and even to find part of ourselves as yet undiscovered.  Carers can also find relief and hope to keep on keeping on.  Friendships are made, loneliness alleviated, skills learned and honed, forms of expression discovered anew.

walking for fun

This group started in September 2014.  Gentle walking in the local area.  Every other Friday, usually starting at 11 am and finishing with lunch.  Every alternate walk is from the Trailway to the Fiddleford Inn (stopping for lunch and/or a drink) and back.  The other fortnightly walk is further afield  with a minibus there and/or  back - see details below.

Please let Judith know if you're coming and if you want lunch, so that she can give numbers to the pub/cafe.  Dogs are usually welcome.

Walks in 2016 started on Friday 1st April.

Next full walks with minibus:

Friday 22nd July.  Walk along the Stour from Stur to Hinton St Mary - a relatively challenging walk.  Lunch at the White Horse Inn.  Bus back only.  Dogs welcome.  Meet at the Trailway at 10.30 am.  Back by 2.30 pm.  Suggested donation towards bus: £2.50.  Or come and meet us for lunch at the pub at 12 noon.

Friday 19th August. Walk around Yeovil Country Park.  Flat areas easy walking, or choose the more rugged path, or just come for the ride.  Lunch at Coopers Arms.  Meet at the Trailway at 10.30 am for bus to the Park.  Suggested donation towards bus: £6.  Hopefully we will be able to stay out longer than usual.  Dogs welcome.
